Proact clinics are on-site to maximise convenience and convey a familiar welcoming environment that promotes a culture of health and motivates employees to manage their health and well-being. Lower patient numbers than a typical community clinic permit longer GP consultations and in depth discussions to fully understand each employee’s health history, challenges, and goals. The objectives are twofold:
1. Facilitate an awareness in each individual that they can have a material impact on their health and wellbeing through a proactive approach to health and lifestyle;
2. Early detection or prevention of chronic diseases – such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Our executive health program is a comprehensive assessment that provides a detailed understanding of current health and potential future risks, and a holistic management plan to reduce or eliminate risk factors, and promote health and longevity.
GPs play an important role as gate-keepers to appropriate mental health care. Prompt recognition and treatment facilitated by a GP can allow for early intervention which may
prevent the employee from becoming ill, taking long-term sick leave or from needing to submit a workers’ compensation claim. The Proact Mental Health Screening Program helps
to proactively identify employees with emerging mental health risks and engage them in care, either through their existing EAP service or an external provider.
There is strong evidence that education can play an important role in prompting positive behavioural change and improving health outcomes. Proact Health will deliver evidence-based educational material covering a range of interesting and relevant topics — mental resilience, sleep science, diet and longevity, cardiovascular risk reduction, and genetics — to help empower your employees with the knowledge and skills to lead healthy productive lives.
There is optionality to include a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals who would work collaboratively with the on-site GPs to help employees achieve their goals for better health. Typically a site would draw upon an Exercise Physiologist, Dietician and Psychologist.
